Doug Grogan
Rev. Douglas Grogan was called to be the Church Planter of The Village Church in Gypsum, Colorado in September of 2008. Doug was a Pastor in Price, Utah for almost nine years and was born in Denver, Colorado, being a native Coloradoan he has always been attracted to the area. Prior to coming to Colorado Doug was the Pastor of Northgate Alliance Church in Ottumwa, Iowa 2003 through August of 2008. During that time God blessed with growth, additional property and a major expansion to the Church Sanctuary.
Prior to Northgate Doug served in the MidAmerica District Office of the Christian and Missionary Alliance located in Omaha, Nebraska. The MidAmerica District Office serves the states of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri. Doug served as District Superintendent 1998 – 2003, and as the Director of Church Planting for the MidAmerica District 1994 – 1998.
Doug has been involved in pastoral ministry since 1975, when he served as the founding pastor of the Kailua Community Church in Kailua, Hawaii until 1984. He served as a pastor of Price Chapel in Price, Utah from 1984 – 1993, and then pastored the Alliance Bible Church in Anchorage, Alaska prior to his ministry in the MidAmerica District. In addition to pastoring, he also served as a police chaplain, instructor for Church Planter Academes in the U.S., Japan, and Australia, as a member of the Board of Trustee’s for Crown College, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
Doug served in the United States Air Force from 1969 – 1972. He is a graduate of Simpson College and received a Masters degree from the University of Hawaii.
He and his wife, Peggy, have been married since 1970 and have two daughters; Melissa Singfiel, who, with her husband Jeff, are missionaries in Kosovo with the C&MA, and Michelle Van Gesen, who, with her husband Danny live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Doug and Peggy currently have four grandchildren.
